A Quilter's Patch Garden...
Big projects start with little pieces.
That's the selvage on the thirty beautiful fabrics that make up Silver Linings in Color by Edyta Sitar for Laundry Basket Quilts. This collection will be shipping later this month but I didn't want to wait any longer.
As always, Edyta has created a spectacular quilt that perfectly suits her small-scale prints and glorious palette of colors. And they're not just for Reproduction quilts - these prints mix beautifully with every style of fabric. It's all about the color.
This glorious Trip Around the World quilt is called Wildflower. You'll need a Fat Quarter bundle and six additional fat quarters to make this 55 1/2" x 73 1/2" quilt.
Picking the extra six fat quarters is going to be really hard... really, really hard.
Edyta likens the color palette of Bachelor Button blues and Sunflower yellows to a bouquet of fresh flowers, and it inspired her to design Quilter's Patch, a beautiful new 12-month Block of the Month.
Mixing a variety of blocks that look like flowers in bloom, a little bit of appliqué and a lovely cottage, the quilt finishes at 75" x 78 1/2". Quilter's Patch is being published in book-form by It's Sew Emma.
As I wrote a moment ago, with the small-scale prints and almost tonal color of the fabrics, they're ideal blenders and accents for Reproduction, traditional and many modern fabrics. There are also many options for pulling out smaller color palettes for small or seasonal projects.
Spring?
Maybe something a bit more sophisticated with black, gray, cream, gold and blue...
The backgrounds are exceptional - they're the perfect creamy Ivory shade that works with any style of collection.
A twist on the traditional Pink and Brown - it might not show accurately in the photo but the "black" is a closer to a "washed black" or dark charcoal.
The possibilities are endless.
Yes, I'm having a little too much fun with this collection...
